He was baptized Ladybog, Auchterless parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, 13 August 1727. Religion: Church of Scotland.⁽³⁸²⁾ "August 13th.1727 William Tocher in Ladybog had a child baptized named George before the congregation." Though I have placed George as being born with the present family, there was also a George born of a William, at Upper Cottown in Auchterless in 1729 . It is impossible to say which is the correct one. This info is also from the Old parochial records of Auchterless
