Alexander died 29 July 1897 Hill of Hatton, Auchterless parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, at 75 years of age.⁽³⁵⁾ The following individual is also linked to this event: Thomas Roy BARCLAY (witness). Note "Peter", a surname, the last word is at the bottom of the stone indicating the "Peter" grave. This Annie Barclay is the daughter of either Alexander Barclay/Mary Geddes or his brother William Barclay/Jane Marno. Both parents had a daughter Ann born 1864. She married Andrew PETER about 1892. William died 8 January 1957 Newmill, Auchterless parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, at 86 years of age. His body was interred after 8 January 1957 Auchterless parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. " Erected by William Barclay in loving memory of his wife Helen Simpson who died at Newmill 24th.Jult 1947 aged 80 years also the above William Barclay who died at Newmill 8th. Jan. 1957 aged 86 years."

Note: This William Barclay is probably son of Alexander Barclay/Mary Geddes born 2-10-1870 no other William fits date. He married Helen SIMPSON in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, about 1890. (Helen SIMPSON is #356.)
