101. Andrew6 CHALMERS (George5, George4, John3, James2, William1) (#461) was born Mosstown, Alvah parish, Banffshire, Scotland 17 December 1843. Andrew died 19 June 1890 in Blackshank, Alvah parish, Banffshire, Scotland, at 46 years of age.
He married Margaret MORRISON in Ella Cottage, Alvah parish, Banffshire, Scotland, 8 December 1870. (Margaret MORRISON is #1020.) Margaret was the daughter of William MORRISON and Christine WEBSTER. Margaret died after 1887 in MacDuff, Gamrie parish, Banffshire, Scotland.
He was baptized Mosstown, Alvah parish, Banffshire, Scotland, 5 March 1844. Religion: Church of Scotland. The information for Andrew Chalmers and his wife down to his descendant, Henny van Veelo ( ID1501 ), was given to the compiler by the latter through email on 22 August 2001. It was confirmed by Elizabeth Riddle of Aberdeen through email dated 10 October 2002. Elizabeth also gave me the following: " I have been researching The Chalmers Family of Mosstown.There was only John born 1883. My grand mother was also a daughter, Elizabeth Webster b. 28/4/1873. Then William b. 17/11/1875, next, Margaret Christie. 1887. I was also told there was a Mona or Monica, but I could not find her. When the parents died the family were sent to separate cousins. Elizabeth went to MacDuff, William to Pirie, Mosstown, Mona lived in Edinburgh??? Margaret to MacIntosh, Boyndie St, Huntly. John to a cousin in Auchterless and married in Turriff and committed suicide age 40. Sorry Forgot to enter Andrew Chalmers and Margaret Morrison at the top of the page.
