William was born Redhill, Auchterless parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 2 September 1873.⁽²⁸⁰⁾ William was the son of James BARCLAY and Elizabeth MIDDLETON. William died 8 July 1911 Little Newton, Auchterless parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, at 37 years of age.⁽²⁸¹⁾ His body was interred after 8 July 1911 Auchterless parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, kirkyard. Stone in Auchterless kirkyard: " Erected by Isabella Milton In memory of her husband William Barclay Who died at Little Newton Auchterless 8th.
